A research group led by Edward Dempsey of the University of Colorado has identified that bryostatin and bryostatin derivatives may be used to treat pulmonary hypertension (PH), and other vascular diseases associated with cardiac hypertrophy. Proof-of-concept studies underway in spring 2009 will provide further information about bryostatin derivatives as a treatment for pulmonary hypertension; POC experiments will be performed in rats and calves with future plans to move to the clinic and begin testing in patients with PH.To read a non-confidential summary of this technology, please click the image at left.
